Occupational Health Services and Their Activities
The activities of occupational health services are subject to registration under the conditions and procedures set out in Regulation No. 3 of 25.01.2008 on the conditions and procedures for the activities of occupational health services, issued by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Labor and Social Policy.
Occupational health services are units with primarily preventive functions. They provide consultation and assistance to employers, labor conditions committees, and working groups in planning and organizing activities related to:

Ensuring and maintaining healthy and safe working conditions;

Promoting the health and working capacity of employees in relation to their job functions;

Adapting work to the capabilities of the employee, taking into account their physical and mental health.
Objectives of Occupational Health Services
Occupational health encompasses activities from various specialties, with the primary goal of:
➡ Protecting and promoting employees’ health by preventing and early detecting occupational health impairments, as well as by eliminating or minimizing harmful factors and conditions at work;
➡ Developing and promoting a safe and healthy working environment as well as improving work organization;
➡ Enhancing the physical, mental, and social well-being of employees and preserving their work capacity to support their professional and social development in the workplace;
➡ Enabling employees to lead a socially and economically productive life.
Main Responsibilities of Occupational Health Services
➡ Participating in the development and implementation of health and safety management policies;
➡ Providing consultations on health, safety, and workplace hygiene, including the use of individual and collective protective equipment;
➡ Identifying and assessing risks in the workplace;
➡ Developing measures to minimize and mitigate workplace risks;
➡ Studying employees’ health conditions, with special attention given to high-risk groups;
➡ Organizing and conducting periodic medical check-ups for employees;
➡ Providing specialized educational seminars for employers and employees regarding workplace safety regulations and first aid training;
➡ Preparing summary analyses of occupational accidents and diseases, as well as data from temporary incapacity for work and periodic medical examinations.
All employers are obliged to provide their employees with healthy and safe working conditions.
